Challenge

Before the transition, The Underdog Coffee used standard multilayer plastic coffee bags that, while effective at preserving freshness, were difficult to recycle. With a growing number of environmentally conscious consumers, the brand recognized the need to align its packaging with its sustainable values—without compromising on product quality or shelf appeal.

Solution

GreenBioBag worked closely with The Underdog team to design and manufacture a custom line of recyclable coffee bags using mono-material PE film. These bags offer high-barrier protection against oxygen and moisture, ensuring coffee freshness while being compatible with recycling streams in most European countries. The design was optimized to reflect the brand’s clean, modern aesthetic and specialty-grade positioning.
