Are cane sugar bags compostable

Sugarcane, also known as bagasse, is a renewable, fast growing resource that is grown for a number of purposes, like cane juice. Once the juice is extracted, the sugarcane stalk is usually incinerated or discarded. However, these crushed stalks can be saved and made into other items before they get thrown away. We reclaim this material and use it to make our bagasse items.

Sugarcane bag are neither compostable nor biodegradable, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sugarcane bag is a recyclable packaging bag. Sugarcane plastics can be processed by a normal recycling facility, unlike biodegradable plastic. It is the recyclable material, and manufactured using a plant based bio-polymer made from sugar cane.

It's the process of photosynthesis as the plant grows that makes this product carbon positive. The sugar cane actively captures CO2 from the atmosphere, while at the same time releasing oxygen – making this material not just green, but proactively green.
